Can a girl like me making a living off of art these days?
I sure would love to move to a new apartment. My landlord’s wrecking my sanity and letting me get devoured by literal blood-sucking fleas. I can’t sleep, I feel awful, and I itch something terrible right now.
Landlords control too many aspects of our lives in New York City. My neighbors are mostly amazing but some great big billionaire corporations gobble up buildings to hoard wealth. I don’t feel safe inside a building where one mean neighbor (groupchat confirmed) terrorizes us to help our landlord keep turning over units. It’s awful to know that you can try to do everything right but still have to live in fear.
I’d love to make enough money to get a temporary place while the landlord deal with the asbestos, the roof leak, and the pests.
Then me and my super-duper-talented boyfriend can make art in peace.
